R & D
CUSTOMER-TAILORED DEVELOPMENT
The research and development departments use the foremost integrated information instruments for virtual design and optic, mechanical and electronic simulation. The electronic information is rapidly transformed into programs for production machines and in instructions for the 3D-CAMs that develop the samples of the optic and mechanical parts. The possibility of simulating the performance of new photoelectric devices facilitates product personalization. This technology allows Datalogic to reduce product development times, cut down time-to-market and ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of the technical specifications of new products.
An internal ambient test laboratory, in full compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, can reproduce and simulate all application situations and is consequently able to support self-certification for CE marking, as well as product pre-qualification, when the formal approval of an external third-party party is required.

Manufacturing
The future of photoelectric sensors will be characterized by more optic-application functions in standardized product lines, highlighting the manufacturer’s competitive advantage. Datalogic Automation focuses its activity on factory automation, component standardization and product configuration. Datalogic Automation has adopted the principles of ‘lean thinking’ to offer flexibility to customers. The ability to rapidly adapt and follow the dynamic external scenery, combining ‘minor stock with improved service’ is based on the experience of an effective just-in-time management, supported by a patent-covered technique called DYBAN™.
The mission of being a manufacturer obliges Datalogic to continuously invest in innovative technologies. Factory automation is based on the ability to mount, assemble and test in a completely automatic manner.
Rapid next generation chip-sized SMT machines operate on innovative handling lines, ensuring automatic mounting and testing of electronic PCBs using chip-size technology. Robots (in fully-automated systems) complete, assemble and test the main products, as well as package the miniaturized sensors guaranteeing repeatability, reliability and final product quality.
Datalogic is among the few sensor manufacturers that internally produces its own glass and plastic optic components; technologies and skills now rare and specialized.
This technological capability represents a competitive advantage, reducing the development time of new photoelectric products and facilitating customization in order to improve market response and consolidate basic know-how. This know-how is today offered by Datalogic Automation, offering refined optic components for industrial or civil applications.
